Many people have tasted Tieguanyin tea, but have you ever wondered why this tea is called Tieguanyin? It is estimated that many people will not think of this question, and even if they do, it is estimated that they will be too serious. Serious friends, the big deal will go to the Internet to search for the answer.

To be honest, I didn’t pay much attention to this issue before, but when I mentioned Tieguanyin, I would think of the image of Guanyin Bodhisattva, and occasionally think of it, drinking a sip of Tieguanyin is equivalent to paying respect to Guanyin Bodhisattva from the heart. back. As a result, this tea is energetic and has a cultural flavor.

The sayings about why Tieguanyin tea is called Tieguanyin found on the Internet are mainly (or more widely spread) two. One is called Wei Shuo, and the other is called Wang Shuo.

The core of what Wei said is Guanyin's dream. No, I immediately established a direct connection with Guanyin Bodhisattva, and I felt like a mountain of iron proof. The main content is that there was a tea farmer named Wei Yin (also called Wei Yin), who believed in Guanyin, was diligent in growing tea, and offered tea to the statue of Guanyin every day. One day I had a dream that there was a tea tree with a unique fragrance in a certain crevice. When I woke up, I really found it, dug it up and transplanted it into my iron tripod. This tea is naturally named Tieguanyin. There are even Wei Yin's birth and death on the Internet, from 1703 to 1775, he was in his 70s, and he worked from the 42nd year of Kangxi to the 40th year of Qianlong.

This story looks fake. I don't doubt that Wei Yin is really there. After all, in the dynasties before the Qing Dynasty, the Chinese nation already had the norms and practices of cultivating genealogy, but I doubt the details of the transfer to the iron tripod. First, tea farmers basically think that tea trees cannot be moved, and if they are moved, the taste will change (in modern terms, the environment changes, and the quality changes, which is also true); Even if it needs to be moved, it should be transplanted directly into the ground. Obviously this is to make the word "iron" in the name of the real Tieguanyin tea. If this is really the case, wouldn't it be the premise of Tieguanyin tea planted in ironware!

The core of what Wang said was the name given by Qianlong. It is said that an official named Wang Shirang found a special tea tree. After a series of processes such as cultivation, he got a good tea and presented it to Fang Bao. Fang Bao also thought it was a good tea and presented it to Qianlong. After drinking it, Qianlong greatly praised it and asked about the history of tea, and because of this, the black tea is moist and firm, heavy like iron, beautiful in flavor and shape, just like "Guanyin", and named "Tie Guanyin".

It is difficult to comment on the truth or falsehood of this, but I always feel that it is a little evil, and the reliability is still a bit poor. Why do you say that? Can it be called "Goddess of Mercy" just by its taste, fragrance and beauty? The old man of the emperor didn't just drink this good tea with beautiful flavor and shape. Why do you call it "Guanyin"? The green tea is of the top grade, and the brewed appearance (one leaf and one core or two leaves and one core) is closer to the shape of "Guanyin".

Of course, there are other sayings about why Tieguanyin tea is called Tieguanyin, and the content is very different, so I won't list it. In short, I don't think so, it's hard to believe. So, how did this Tieguanyin tea get its name? Here, please allow me to imagine and give an answer for reference, which can be regarded as adding a drop of delicacy to Tieguanyin's tea culture.

In my opinion, the origin of Tieguanyin tea name has to start from the local area. It is the product of local culture and culture, and it also condenses the sustenance and yearning from the people. Finally, it is recognized that Tieguanyin is the tea name.

There is no dispute that the tea comes from Fujian. Because of Linhai, apart from Mazu, the religious belief in Fujian must be inseparable from Guanyin, not to mention Mazu must be ranked below Guanyin. I think this is true not only in ancient times, but even in modern Fujian. Good things, of course, will be worshipped to God, and tea is no exception.

To be sure, before the emergence of Tieguanyin tea, Fujian tea was definitely not ordinary, and there were good teas. Tea farmers keep improving, and they have produced a good tea, which can be obtained through certain standardized operations, such as the geographical location of tea trees, the selection of tea trees, the selection of leaves, the production process and utensils, and even the brewing process, etc. , there is a high probability of getting a good tea with a bright orange-yellow tea and a lasting fragrance. This is Tieguanyin, but there is no unified name yet.
